Wally
Hunter, Managing Director: Wally has
been investing in energy and clean energy companies
and projects for 11 years. Wally runs EnerTech's Canadian
opperations from Toronto. His specific areas of interest
and responsibility include opportunities in alternative
fuels and storage, power quality and conversion, power
electronics, advanced materials, motor controls, automation
and sensors.
Prior to EnerTech, Wally was with Royal Bank of Canada ("RBC"), where he was a Managing Director of the bank's private equity fund and responsible for the Energy Technology and Advanced Technology Fund. Prior to that he was in RBC's investment banking division.
In addition, Wally produced and hosted the weekly financial television show "Money Week" which featured over 200 guest interviews from Canadian and U.S. money managers over a 14 year period.
Wally currently sits on the board of Filterboxx and Sempa Energy and managed our investment in Catch the Wind.
Wally received a BA from the University of Western Ontario and has completed a number of securities-related courses and programs including the Canadian Securities Institute (CSC program) and Canadian Investment Finance (CIF I, II &III).
Bill
Kingsley, Managing Director: Bill has
been investing in energy and clean energy companies
and projects for 10 years. Bill is a key architect of
EnerTech’s smart grid, demand response, energy
storage, water and solar strategies.
Prior to joining EnerTech, Bill worked in the high growth segments of the communications industry. While with Comcast Corporation, Bill was a key member of the team responsible for the IPO and eventual sale of Teleport, was part of the founding team of Sprint PCS and lead the company's efforts to provide services to the electric utility industry. Earlier in his career, Bill was with GTE Mobile Communications as a Director of New Business Development. He started his career at Contel Corporation serving in a variety of engineering, marketing, financial and management positions.
Bill currently sits
on the boards of CalStar Products, INVIDI Technologies,
IOSIL Energy, PCN Technology and Schema and is an observer
to the boards of Atraverda, CURRENT Group and Serious
Materials. Previously he was a director of Arbinet (ARBX)
and Advent Solar. He is a member of the IBF Clean Technology
Investor Summit Advisory Board.
Bill received a BS in Business Administration from Lynchburg College and an MA in telecommunications from George Washington University.
Tucker
Twitmyer, Managing Director: Tucker has been
investing in energy and clean energy companies and projects
for 10 years. Tucker covers the alternative energy (solar,
wind, and algal fuel), oil and gas, and smart grid and
energy efficiency sectors.
Prior to EnerTech, Tucker was a co-founder and Managing Director of Katalyst LLC, a private equity services firm and a Senior Manager at Andersen Consulting, now Accenture. Tucker began his career in finance and IT operations with MultiServ, a provider of material handling and recycling services to the steel industry.
Tucker currently sits on
the boards of Advent Solar, OwnEnergy and Tangent Energy
Solutions. He previously sat on the boards of Enerwise
and FuelQuest and was an observer to Comverge and Altela.
He is a member of the CleanTech Venture Network Advisory
Board and former co-President of Wharton Private Equity
Partners.
Tucker received a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Scott
Ungerer, Managing Director: Scott
has been investing in energy and clean energy companies
and projects for nearly 20 years. Scott's specific areas
of interest include opportunities in power generation,
transmission and distribution, smart grid, distributed
generation, motive power and nano-materials.
Prior to EnerTech,
Scott spent 16 years as a utility executive with Atlantic
Electric culminating in his role as President and COO
of the company's non-regulated enterprises and Officer
of the parent corporation. While leading the non-regulated
division, Atlantic Energy Enterprises ("AEE"),
Scott was responsible for creating three new businesses
and managing assets that generated more than $200 million
in annual revenue. Prior to AEE, Scott was the Director
of Corporate Strategy and Business Development and oversaw
the creation of the organization's M&A strategy
that eventually led to the merger of Atlantic Energy
with Delmarva Power.
Scott currently sits
on the boards of CoaLogix, Comverge (COMV), CURRENT
Group, Tangent Energy Solutions and The NanoSteel Company.
Scott formerly sat on the boards of Catalytic Solutions
(L: CTSU), Clean Air Power (L: CAP), Enerwise and Intellon
(ITLN). Scott is a governing board member of the NIST
Smart Grip Interoperability Panel (SGIP), a member
of the Battelle Energy Advisory Council and a former
member of the Cleantech Venture Network Advisory Board.
Scott received
a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University.
Bernard David, Venture Partner: A successful technology entrepreneur, Bernard has founded, built and
and sold several businesses. Amonst these companies, he co-founded SaveSmart, Inc. (Prio, Inc.) which was sold to Infospace and founded
officesupplies.com which was sold to Office Depot. Recently, he's been a private investor, aligning his interests in sustainability with
his investment approach.
Bernard currently sits
on the board of ReProduct, Inc. and Tangent Energy Solutions.
He is a Fellow at The Wharton School’s Initiative on
Global Environmental Leadership. Bernard is also the
Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ErthNxt,
Inc.; a Trustee of The H. John Heinz III Center for
Science, Economics and the Environment; and, a Member
of the National Forum for Children and Nature.
Bernard earned a Bachelors
in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania,
and a BS in Finance and an MBA in Marketing from the
Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Peter
Green, Entrepreneur in Residence: Peter
joined Advent Solar as its President and CEO in December
2007. With more than 30 years of experience in the US
and European semiconductor markets, Peter was responsible
for setting Advent Solar's growth strategy and commercializing
its technology. Peter led Advent Solar to a successful
exit with the sale of the company in November 2009.
Prior to Advent Solar,
Peter led the Integrated Power Group at ON Semiconductor
in Phoenix, AZ. He also held several senior management
roles during his 22 years at Intel Corporation, including
general manager of the Microcomputer Group, Digital
Imaging Group, XScale and Handheld Computing Group.
At Intel, he managed acquisitions and joint developments,
and was recognized for his involvement in successfully
driving initiatives for the company around digital imaging
and portable computing.
Peter has also held
sales and marketing roles at Texas Instruments in Europe
and Houston, TX. Peter joined Texas Instruments from
Plessey, UK, where he was a scientist responsible for
design and implementation of missile guidance systems
for the Ministry of Defense at the Allen Cark Research
Centre.
Peter was educated
in the UK and holds a BS in Physics and a MS in Microwave
and Telecommunication Theory.
Clara
E. Del Villar, Director of Investor Relations:
Clara is a senior finance industry professional specializing in investment management, business development and marketing strategy.
Clara has had a 26 year career or executive experience in global capital markets, investment management, banking and corporate strategy.
From 2004 - 2006, she worked as Vice President for Compliance and Mergers & Acquisition Integration at Nortel Networks.
Prior to that and a brief assignment with the U.S. Treasury Technical Assistance Financial Marekts Program in Amman, Jordan, she worked
for 14 years at Neuberger Berman/Lehman as a Senior Portfolio Manager, building and managing $3.5 billion in tax exempts assets and as a Sr. Vice President/Regional
Marketing Director in Private Asset Management. She also spent 5 years with Nomura Securities International as Sr. Vice President, co-founding the U.S. Institutional
Fixed Income Market Institutional Sales Division and developing Arbitrage/Risk Management strategies for client portfolio--becoming the highest ranking female at the
(then) largest Global Financial Corporation. Early financial market experience was gained in the Capital Markets Divisions of Chemical Bank and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette.
She currently serves as a director on the Executive Board of the Women's Health Symposium in New York and on the advisory committee of the National Foundation to Teach U.S. and Europe with two international petroleum companies,
Entrepreneurship. In addition, Clara holds sustaining memberships with the Manhattan Institute, Rockefeller University Women and Science, Foreign Policy Association, and
America's Society. She is a former Trustee of the Metropolitan College of New York and Women's Campaign Fund.
Clara received a BSFS from Georgetown University Foreign Service School with a degree in International Finance/Commerce.
Clark
Phippen, Director of Strategic Investor Relations:
Clark is responsible for managing relationships with
EnerTech’s strategic investors. He has nearly
40 years of experience in the energy, chemical and utility
industries, most recently as the Director of Business
Development for Conectiv, now a part of Pepco Holdings.
Prior to that, Clark was the Director of Investor Affairs
and Director of Business Development for the DuPont
Company. Before joining DuPont, he held executive positions
in refining, marketing and marine operations in the
U.S. and Europe with two international petroleum companies,
Mobil and Conoco. Clark serves on the Delaware Public
Employees Retirement System (DEPERS) Investment Committee
and on the Business Advisory Board of AMT Ventures.
Clark received a BS
degree from Trinity College and an MBA degree from the
Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Scott
Prince, Principal: Scott joined EnerTech Capital in 2008 and heads EnerTech's “Heartland of America” efforts. He spent the previous 19 years in Silicon Valley start-ups managing sales, marketing, and companies that include Oracle Corp., Phone.com, Remedy Corp., Siebel Systems and Cloudmark.
Scott and his teams focused primarily on enabling Fortune 1000 energy, transportation, manufacturing, financial, healthcare, high technology and materials companies to increase their customer acquisition, market share and revenue while also helping them optimize their financial and manufacturing operations as they launched into new or established commercial, industrial, consumer or international markets.
Scott works directly with numerous portfolio companies in the energy sector and has helped create supporting programs in the industry that include the Energy Systems Network and Indiana Sustainability Alliance.
Scott received a BS in Business from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Dean
Sciorillo, Principal:
Dean joined EnerTech in 2004 and is responsible
for sourcing, analyzing and supporting EnerTech portfolio
companies. Prior to joining EnerTech, Dean spent 15
years with Exelon Corporation most recently in the corporate
venture capital group. Prior to that, he was a Business
Planning Manager focusing on the long term strategic
and financial planning of the Enterprises Business Unit
and worked closely with the retail energy, telecommunication
and utility infrastructure businesses. Earlier in his
career, he held financial positions with several start-up
businesses of Exelon including the company's energy
management and consulting practice and onsite energy
services business. Dean currently is an observer
to the boards of CoaLogix, OwnEnergy and Tangent Energy
Solutions.
Dean received a BS in Finance from LaSalle University and an MBA from the Fox School of Temple University.
